Hi...I have a big question that I hope you can help me with.

I'm already signed up with a legitimate dropshipper but have found out that he is just a middleman for SMC. In fact, there are so many websites online that obviously buy from SMC that my head is spinning. But I like novelities. Not to be deterred though, I guess I have to advertise more..... ;) What my plan is to try out some of the products from this dropshipper, see what sells and try to find the manufacturer of products similar to these. Not just junk....

My question is, how do I find out who manufactures SMC's products? I know they are probably Asian sources. Also, all the catalogs like World of Products, Bayberry Lane, Big Value etc...does that belong to SMC also or can I buy directly from the catalog folks?

I guess I just want to find some different quality novelties, jewelry and practical things like....SMC, Harriet Carter, Lillian Vernon, Lakeside etc., All of these sites seem to sell almost totally different items, but in the same class...

I really like some of Lakeside Collections gifts and would probably buy from them because they advertise some of their retail items so low...but they have a really BAD reputation. Why can't I find out who sells to them?

Is is possible to buy from any of these store's sources or am I that green....!!

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks so much for your site and information. It has really been a great help so far!!

Try this site Link hidden: Login to view It is listed in the directory and they sell similar to SMC. I can't help you source the product but maybe you can find something cheaper.

Hi Beach....

Thanks for your reply, but they sell EXACTLY the same thing as my distributor. FYI for Salehoo....there's a monthly payment of 19.95 to get a cheaper price....and of course they sell all those catalogs....Does anyone know if the catalogs sited in my previous post are a part of SMC?

Is "sourcing the product" by Salehoo kinda like taboo...?

Thanks so much

Brenda

The source for SMC is as you suggested probably an Asian source. Well definitely an Asian source. There are two problems here. One is finding their source which might be a source that is licensed to only sell to SMC.

The other problem is if you find them, I am sure there may be a high minimum. Maybe 10,000 dollars. Then you have to figure out what to buy which is what makes SMC so attractive which is their only strong point from what I have read about them. There are hundreds of complaints against them. But as complaints can be biased one has to research it for themselves.

Stay away from bad rep sources. A couple of complaints is a common occurrence on the internet. Even Newegg has complaints. But a long string of complaints is not a good sign.

I find that woman have a good sense for artsy and fashion stuff just make sure you test market first.

IN addition. Yes you can find the source of any retailer. But be prepared to spend some money to buy in bulk. Ebay is dastardly in that many big retailers sell there.
