How to contact suppliers and get a response

Hello,

I have contacted over 100 suppliers, but only 1 have answered to me. Also, I'm not having any success with selling items that one supplier offered even with 40% price cut. Before I start to write to another hundred suppliers I would ask for your help.

As I am not native English speaker, I would be really happy if someone would help me out with creating or editing my message I usually send to suppliers.

My message:

" Hello,

My name is NAME SURNAME, seller on Amazon. I found your company listed in SaleHoo Wholesale Directory, and I am interested in setting up drop shipping business with you. I am interested to sell only in US so far, I need trustable partners to work with who will let my amazon business grow. I am also planing to build multiply websites with different niche products in nearest future.

As I am not resident of US and we are based in Latvia, Europe, do I still need to ensure you with my Tax ID?

Do you ensure my information is on the packing slip/package?

What is the discount on your products for dropshippers?

What are your damaged/return policies for dropship orders?

May I use your products’ images/descriptions on Amazon and on to be website?

How do I place my dropship orders (i.e. online/email)?

How long does it take for orders to be processed and shipped?

What shipping methods do you offer and do you provide tracking numbers?

Are you asking additonal pay for subscribtion?

Thank you for your time! I look forward to hearing from you! "

Hi Ritvars,

Please note that like all businesses, suppliers do close at night and during the weekends. Most suppliers operate 8am-5pm Monday to Friday.

And one more important thing, phone is often a much more effective way of contacting suppliers than email. Suppliers often have a backlog of support emails to deal with, so it may take a few days for them to get back to you. Whereas with phone, you get priority straight away.

Karen is right, phone is the most effective form of communicating with suppliers, however with your language barrier that may well be an issue for you. I'm curious, all of these suppliers that have not responded at all, were they all from the SaleHoo directory?

It is frustrating, but many suppliers simply don't treat email inquiries with the same level of interest as they do phone inquiries for what ever reason. I personally think that's a real shame because both parties end up losing a business opportunity in the end and that just makes no sense to me at all.

I think if email is going to be your only option, then I would suggest cutting your initial inquiry back quite a lot. Perhaps try something more simply like your brief introduction and just ask what you need to do to open an account with them. Once you get a response, then you can try following up with your other questions and see if that approach is any better.

Yes, I contacted suppliers only from SaleHoo directory

I'll follow up your advice and I am going to cut and rewrite contacting message I have used. Actually that's what I only wanted to see, as now I'm planing to contact everyone via email and only after that I'll start to call suppliers via skype.

Using Skype is a great idea for calling, very inexpensive way for international calling.

Just two other tips I would suggest, always look for information on a suppliers website to answers your questions first, many people don't even check before asking.

Secondly, If you don't find a live chat option on a suppliers website then when you do make contact with them, ask if they do offer online support through Skype chat or other similar forms of chat. That's always a great way to make fast contact at the very least if available.
