Hi Tony, welcome to the forum
The important thing to realize is that dropshipping has it's advantages, but also comes with its disadvantages. In business, being in control is what it's all about. It's how you steer your business to ultimate success or completely off the road and into a ditch!
One of the big disadvantages of dropshipping as a business model is your lack of control. You're relying on a third party to keep YOUR customers happy. Remember, their YOUR customers, they aren't the customers of the dropshipper themelves, that's YOU!
So straight away you see the potential problem, if your dropshipper starts letting you down, then that flows straight down hill to your customers and ultimately into a pool of discontent that lands on your door step and you can't simply can't say that you're sorry, but not your fault. They're your customers, so it's your job to keep them happy.
So there is the disconnect!
So in answer to your question, is it true .... absolutely. In fact I would say there would be many that have fallen into that trap. Many think dropshipping is just an easy way to do nothing and make coin, unfortunately, not much is that simple!
