I'm a Newfoundland expatriate living in Calgary. Work is a lot easier to find out west but I still live pay-cheque to pay-cheque, which sucks royally. So I took the plunge and signed up with Salehoo.
67 bucks isn't that big of a plunge of course, especially when you consider what World Wide Brands is charging. I think I made a good choice.
I'm currently slogging through the headache of all the permits & other paperwork I need to take care of before any wholesaler will look at me, but I try to do at least one concrete thing every day that gets me closer to being my own boss.
If there are any members in my general area who would like to network for any reason, don't hesitate to drop me a line. I saw a post from someone in Scandinavia who was interested in co-operatively purchasing from a wholesaler in order to get better pricing. I might be interested in something like that, for example.
I'm hoping to find a niche that involves books, cds and movies/documentaries. But my first and foremost goal is to fire my boss, so I'll sell whatever sells.
What else? I enjoy web development a lot. Right now I'm building my own data management system in PHP as a side project. I can't wait until I get to the point of setting up my own online store. Anything having to do with websites is right up my alley.
Well, I'm off to peruse the rest of the site. Any comments, suggestions, advice is greatly appreciated.
