eBay (Mercado Libre) - Will not allow dropshipping?

Hi everybody.

I have read ebay politics and the site do not allow selling doing dropshipping. In fact, the listing must be "diferentiated" as "pre-sale"

Also, buyer do not liberate the purchase money until product arrive to him. But, how am I going to send money to dropshipper if costumer do not liberate the same money to do the same purchase?

What is the right procedure?

I wouldn't worry to much about it unless the following factor is present. The company is located far away from you and or your customers. If the item is as described above, simply state in the item location, of your description, where the item is located.

So if you were selling in the US and your item's location were in Spain, you should list Spain in the item location.

Item location being the address of your drop shipper.

If you live in Indiana and your drop shipper is in California, your probably ok just listing your address as the item location.

Dropshipping or better know on eBay as 'Product Sourcing' is allowed on eBay.com - Link hidden: Login to view although the policy may differ on various eBay sites.

Ideally dropshipping works like this: You find a dropshipper and set up an account. Once you've created an account, all you need to do is grab the dropshipper's provided photos and product descriptions for the items you wish to sell and list them on eBay or your website.

After you make a sale and receive payment, you log into your dropshipper account, select the product you have just sold and take it through the checkout and pay for it. Enter the buyer's shipping details, and the dropshipper will package it up and post it.

But in case the money is not released as you mentioned, then you will have to pay for the item with your own money, many sellers use their own money to pay for dropshipped items.

Thanks a lot for time, patience and knowledge.

Questions have been answered, only have one more issue.

I can purchase the item to my own money to send it to final costumer, but what about if I do not have enough money to do transaction? Is it possible put as delivery politic do not send untill all money have been deposited at account? I mean, Ebay say "costumer will liberate $$ until item arrives to him to prevent scams" etc. But "door opens from both sides". What about if I purchase item with my money, send it and buyer do not liberate $$? Yes, I can put complain; but "door opens from both sides" Do you know what I mean? Comments?

That's just a risk of doing business, really. Without wanting to discourage you, if you are not financially capable of fulfilling incoming orders you might need to consider another business. The soft expenses alone (eg. eBay listing fees, which are charged whether or item sells or not) will bleed you dry if you aren't careful. Being able to fulfill orders in a timely fashion, in order to get essential positive feedback on your selling account, should be considered a prerequisite to making your first listing, not a "what if?" scenario.

I have to agree with Frank on this one. He's definitely right, its a matter of taking the risk to help you get there. Business is not an exact science - what may work for others, may not necessarily work for you.

If you don't feel super sure about what you're doing then take it in baby steps. Why not list your old things instead of selling products from a dropshipper. When you sell your old things - there is not much risk since you do not need to put out money from your pocket. This is also a great way to work on your feedback as a newbie seller. Once you done a few transactions then you may have more confidence to deal with dropshippers and shell out your own money too!
