How to set Amazon shipping rates?

how do i set my own shipping price when selling on amazon? it keeps putting Â£4.09 for shipping which is too much for someone to buy. i want to provide free shipping

By default they set shipping & handling fees at $3.99 and you can choose to do expedited as well for $6.99 - there is also an international shipping rate. I've seen some other shipping prices as well, but they must either be item specific (due to weight) or some sort of special arrangements with the seller (I can't verify that this is the case).

I love when people choose expedited because I always ship very quickly anyways, and it's just a bonus for me :)

I read that only Amazon Pro Merchant account subscribers can set their own shipping rates. This may help -

Edit Your Shipping Policy and Rates Page
2. From the list on the page, click Shipping.
3. In the Shipping Policies Help Content box, enter the content you want to add to the page. This is where you enter the information describing your policies for shipping. To modify the text, make your changes in the edit window.
4. In the Shipping Rates Help Content box, enter the content you want to add to the page. This is where you enter the information giving more information about your rates. To modify the text, make your changes in the edit window.
5. When you are finished, click Save.
