Importing electronic gadgets from China to the UK

Can any one advise what safety standards need to be adhered to when importing electrical goods from China for retail reselling in the UK.

I would also keep in mind that there may be some issues concerning voltage. As you probably know, electronics made for the U.S. have completely different specifications for voltage than those made for the UK. I would just make sure that the electronics you're importing will work with UK voltage and electrical outlets.
