You can use ebay pulse, it will give you the top searched for. Planes also posted a good link the other day, but I can't remember where that was so you can just drop him a PM, and I'm sure he'll be happy to post you the link.

Other than eBay Pulse, one good thing to be vigilant about are the things celebrities are wearing or using. People tend to look up to the 'stars' and imitate the trend they start. So the next time you read a magazine be keen on things that are being repeated from one magazine to the next and you would likely pick up a trend!

Also, try listening more to your friends, they too can be a potential source of 'what is hot' :)

wow good idea about new trends but right now im looking for hot products that are made in china. i checked the eBay Pulse but nothing is made in china they are all games and electronics

Hi Ausafk123,

The key with eBay Pulse is to dig right down into the sub-categories. e.g. # eBay Pulse > Home & Garden > Holidays, Cards & Party Supply > Cards & Stationery

will tell you that

1. sympathy assortment

2. graduation invitations

are popular - both of which you could definitely source from Chinese suppliers.

Another example is: eBay Pulse > Toys & Hobbies > Robots, Monsters & Space Toys > Robots

1. large

2. gundam

3. aibo

4. wall e

5. popy

Obviously these ones are a bit more obscure (unless you really know your robot toys!) so you'd then have to go and look these up on eBay/Amazon/Google product search etc to find out what type of products contain these keywords.

Lots of people don't know about digging deep into the categories on eBay Pulse like this, so it's a great way to get some ideas.

I've heard bicycle-related stuff is really hot right now, and eBay Pulse seems to indicate that that's the case too:

eBay Pulse > Sporting Goods > Outdoor Sports > Cycling

1. 29 er

2. klein

3. moots

4. specialized

5. bianchi

6. campagnolo

7. cyclocross

8. soma

9. chris king

10. colnago

The other thing to try is "As seen on TV products". If you search for this in our directory, we have quite a few suppliers offering these items, and they tend to sell really well while they are being advertised.

Since I have got a bit cheeky and looking at things differently I see things that I may have overlooked, like, bags of gloria jeans coffee beans, $10 for a bag, charge $15-20 plus postage, wtg me for finding this.

You may think this is "crap" but think about it, how many peole are stuck in the middle of this great country and cannot get to a major shopping area?

Walking past a "warehouse" shop, seen this big statue made of wood for $50, thought, geez, what would that go for.. missus kept pushing me away.

Now I know how to think outside the circle.

I gotta tell you AGS, I've never seen someone soak up so much information and then go out and not just make the most of it, but build on it with your own ideas.

I can still remember your first couple of posts mate, now no one could stop you if they tried lol. It's absolutely fantastic to see you really forging ahead, great stuff!

I like the story about your wife dragging you away, and that's how it happens. I'm exactly the same, everything I look at these days I am looking to see if there is an opportunity in it, not how good it would look in the lounge room lol.

It becomes like an addiction, all of a sudden the worth of a product isn't what it's worth to you as a buyer, it's about what's the product worth to you as a seller.

I still love getting out every once and a while and having a dig around in some weekend garage sales, I always go around with a good mate. The big difference between us is he buys for himself when he sees something offering good value, but I always buy for resale alone.

Where he sees a nice product, I see dollar signs lol

If you can find good suppliers, can get high qulity and cheap products, everything is hot item.

And if you sell hot items as others, you have little market now, because it is some late.
