Why is PayPal telling me to send when the cheque payment was cancelled?

Hey all! After reading through the forums I have finally just started up my online business and am happy to be ahead after less than a month!! but I have one transaction which still says payment pending in eBay.

When I go into view the transaction in PayPal it has an image saying 'Ok to post" but then says 'Payment Status: Cancelled'

What's going on? Why is PayPal telling me to send when the cheque payment was cancelled?

Thanks for your help. This item is worth $90 so I would like to get it sorted

Welcome to the forum! Glad to see you finally posted something :)

You are in a pretty strange situation... I think at this point it would be best to get in touch with PayPal and ask them about the issue at hand before you post your product.

Checks do take time to clear but I don't think it would be reflected as "cancelled" during that time.

Hi Simon,

Nice to hear about your online business getting a good start! ;) Bottom line is not to send if you do not have the payment. Check on your paypal account and see if the money is in. Otherwise, get in touch with Paypal and the buyer.

Just wondering how this transaction turned out. Did you really get the payment or was the transaction canceled altogether?

Either way I hope it went well on your end with minimal to no losses at all.
