Yeah, millions of marketable opportunities on eBay, just need a little imagination.
As far as a other food related products, and it's not that I have done any research on it at all, but I suspect products like high quality chocolates would be a good performer.
Perhaps taking that a little further, doing a deal with a supplier to list engraved chocolates for corporate events, gift boxes, that type of thing. I suspect another area would be Gourmet Lines, Home Made, Specialty Foods.
I was watching a small tub of Maple Jam being sold from Japan. I have no idea what Maple Jam is, but I was assuming it would be Maple Syrup based, so that caught my imagination.
It was the sellers first sale, only had the one product listed and it got 7 bids and sold for $7AUD. Now I have no idea what it was worth to buy, but the seller kicked off the auction at $3AUD, so I suspect they made around 100% margin.
That product highlights two areas, the importance of not ignoring what's right in front of your nose, and that of looking at international markets to sell local products. I would be very surprised now if they aren't back at the local supamarket stocking up on a few other items to test market.
I hope to see that Maple Jam get another run, I'll be taking a shot at a tub of that for myself. That has Sunday pancakes written all over it, maybe even a Monday morning muffin : )
