How can I open a bank account in the US?

I Live in a country outside USA. My PayPal account doesn't allow me to accept money and i really need it. Is there any way that i can open a bank account in the United States So i could accept money through PayPal?

Hi dallouleh_s,

I think you can open a PayPal account and use it for sending and receiving money even without a US bank account. All you need is to verify your account by adding your bank account. Remember PayPal is available in at least 190 countries worldwide.

You can definitely receive money through your Paypal account. What you probably mean is that you are looking for alternative means of withdrawing the money you received in Paypal.

Have you checked your options? Depending on your location you can withdraw Paypal funds through your local bank, through credit card or by check. Xoom.com used to process paypal funded transfers but has stopped this since March, 2010.

If you are really interested in opening a US bank acct., I suggest HSBC USA. Fill in the form in their site Link hidden: Login to view

afterwhich you will be sent an account opening kit, which you will then bring to the HSBC branch in your country (for verification purposes). They will then coordinate with HSBC USA to open a US bank account for you. I learned this information from this blog - Link hidden: Login to view
