Ive found My product and have a supplier and also have an excellent price, but what a nightmare to import to Uk. Ive looked at the government website and its confused the hell out of me. Theres this form and that form, some items require this and that etc :?
I really want to do this but just cant seem to get my head round it. Has anyone on here imported to uk from china before, that would be able to guide me through the process?. Would it benefit me getting an agent when im only buying in small quantities and I would have to check the paperwork myself anyway?. Arghhhhhhh
Please any advice greatly recieved Thanks 8)
hi mate, im in the same situation as you, im based in the UK and have many china suppliers in my database as they have the best prices. But i haven't yet imported anything from china to the UK but i hope to soon.
Although a couple of months back i did order a sample from china based company for 3 designer t-shirts just to see how the process worked, i received the t-shirts within about 14 days as promised with a courier company called EMS, i haven't yet received any tax letters so i dont know if it was due to the courier company or whether it was such a small package.
I once read in some wholesale EBOOK that if you ask your supplier to put on the outside of the box that it contains like lets say a gift as apposed to products for resale, then apparently the tax isnt charged or if it is then its a lot cheaper, if this is true then i think this is the way to go, although dont expect it to be a guarentee but its worth trying right??
What products were you looking to ship??
If its similar products to what im after then maybe we can go in on it together then if the import tax rates are really high then we aren't losing as much money.
kind regards
