Customs into Australia

Hi All,

Me again...

If I'm ordering for example 500 dvd movies from usa, how does that work going thru customs? Do I order the dvds, pay the bill, wait for them to ship it to me, then once I receive it, start to sell them?!?!?!? Confused!!

Will customs let me bring that amount into the country?

I think I have been watching too many Border Security shows.

You can bring in up to $1,000 worth without being taxed I believe, unless things have changed recently with customs. The rest of your plan is pretty much how it would all work.

Just be aware that importing from the USA, their DVDs are a different region to those sold here in Oz.

For Australia, go for Region 4 DVDs. You might find that most suppliers in the US have Region 1 DVDs so like what fudjj said, be a bit careful and check that tiny bit of info out, too.

Gotta love Border Security, but I much prefer the US version.

They get guns, skulls, drugs, you name it hidden absolutely everywhere lol, we seem to get bug invested meat being smuggled in by some home sick desperate Asian student lol, that's about as exciting as it gets for our custom officers :(

They must come running from everywhere at the very first sign of drugs, they would be so starved for some real action lol
