Hi there,

Just wanted to know if the company in subject line out of China is legit. I posted an item on eBay for sale and within 12 hours eBay signaled a violation based on copyrights infringement. All I wanted to sell is a Nintendo DS Lite with a TF Card and a R4 Connector with 60 games for the machine. eBay does that - they tell you why but not why exactly in the listing I so called had a violation. So if someone knows of them 'Link hidden: Login to view' that would be appreciated to know if these guys are legit or not.

I know nothing about the company myself, but they are actually a regular forum contributor, so I would be sending them a PM and asking for clarification if I were you!

Would also be contacting them via their site, informing them that youb are a SaleHoo member as well.

Does eBay close our account if we violate their terms?

They can certainly do that!

I'm a member of another forum and this company is spoken about quite a bit. From what I know they are semi-legit, you will receive something however if you look at the prices they are quite clearly fakes. You cannot buy branded goods from china...

I did contact them (Light in the Box) and they recognized that the games were copied and they were part of the package for the DS Lite I was selling. So beware, beware of China. I know on here Salehoo has been promoting them but it is dangerous territory for us seller trying to find a good product. It doesn't take long you can lose your credibility with a poor product coming from there. I find also the shipping a bit high so you really have to mark up.

On another note, they can shut you down - yes without notice. Ebay has so many little policies and guidelines now that it doesn't take much to warn you, remove your listing with no refunds or to simply suspend your account and even terminate it.

This is all due to their modifications recently implemented a few months ago.

Light in the box has been about the most honest company I have seen in recent years. Yes they do sell Some fakes but they dont hide this from you at all. But the majority of their items are not fakes just unbranded items. Some are of very high quality and the customer service is comparable to many larger companies.

Surely not? Light in the Box are just about a bigger scam company as any. You can tell just by looking at what they are offering. I would avoid at all costs.

Jimmy, out of interest, nothing personal against you at all. Why do you condone the selling of counterfeit goods? It is against the law for one, eBay will ban you the second they find out. 90% of end customers are not happy to receive fake goods. It also damages business for people like myself who sell authentic goods.

Stay away from lightinthebox.com :)

For one thing you don't know Because you are located in Great Britain is a large base of our buyers run flea market booths here in the USA. If you have ever been to a flea market in the US you would know that the majority of sellers sell copycat and designer imitations. Also a huge amount of these sellers and ebay sellers sell the non-Branded Chineese electronics and make very good money selling them.

We do our very best to educate our members on how to avoid selling counterfeits if they are an online seller. But sites like lightinthebox and dhgate also cater to a very large consumer base of flea market sellers around the USA.

The owner of lightinthebox is also a member of salehoo and he also does his best to educate our members in the same area and will honestly tell you if items he has are manufacturered overruns (e.g Fakes) and has helped members save thousands on chineese suppliers that are known scammers.

If you have ever gone through his site completely you would notice that 90% of the products listed are non-branded goods. Made by chineese companies.

Im really not sure about the phones or laptops though I never saw them there the last time I visited.

But yes I will still promote him. He never screwed over any of our members and I never really heard of a member bashing him here on salehoo. So untill I see many complaints from members to change my opinion I will still promote his company.

Fair enough :) I wasn't having a pop I just wondered why. Although being in Great Britain people do still sell fakes and I understand that the people that do know that they are 99% of the time.

I'm well aware of the unbranded goods being perfectly legal so have no problem with that, but it is no secret that you cannot buy branded goods from China.

End of the day I just feel that selling counterfeits is illegal and shouldn't be encouraged...

I have not dealt with them personally but they do have a 3 star rating in the Salehoo directory. You can check out their review here Link hidden: Login to view

And they are also mentioned in the Salehoo forum so here are some posts that you may be interested in reading...
