OK people, I am no internet genius or supplier guru. But using common sense and a little research has helped me find any supplier, real supplier, not some website owner pretending to be 1. Forget all the useless wholesale lists you go thru trying to find 1 real supplier out of hundreds listed.
My secret... google advanced search and the real online yellow pages.
Google.I type in what im looking for.clothing,manufactor,supplier.distributor.
I exclude words like wholesale. (every tom, dick, and harry use wholesale in their listings). Within 10-15 minutes I have found some real suppliers.
Same way with yellow pages> national search for suppliers,distributors,manu-
facter.
First I make sure they have a physical address and phone number, not some website e-mail address. Then I see how long in business. Most suppliers have this on their website under about us.Along with phone contact and address, many with pictures of their warehouse or business front. Some want a tax ID, some dont.
Usually, some have 100.00-300.00 minimum order. Most all dont sell 1 item at a time.Lots of 3-6 items at a time. Most retailers dont buy individual items but
small lots of different colors or styles or sizes. Most all suppliers have quantity
discounts if buying 10-20 or more of same items. They all have payment processing in the normal way. either there own processing or third party processing of credit cards. NOT PAYPAL. Paypal is so expensive it is much cheaper to use merchant acct. for their volume business. These are the clues to look for when looking from a real supplier. Like I said I'm no genius, but
common sense and a little research go a long way. Im just an average guy
trying to build a reliable business, like many of you. To build a reliable business, you have to have long term reliable suppliers. Just got to know where to look.Good luck to all and best wishes for your success...
