So eBay store is worth it if you have items that are high valued? I mean if the item has a price range of $100-$2000? I pay an average of $4-$6 Listing Fees every item that are fixed price and Final Value Fees are also high as well. So is it worth it having an eBay store if a seller is selling high valued items?
You pay a higher fee for listing in fixed price/auction listings for better placement in the search function.
It is wise to always have some listings in these type auctions. This gets your name and items viewed by many more people than just in a store listing.
But as stated earlier, you pay for this with a high fixed priced item listing.
What many eBayers do is list some items to auction/fixed price format and in those listings tell people to visit their store.
Then, in their store they may have hundreds of items for sale. I have seen some of the top eBayers have tens of thousands of items in their store. One seller has 35,000 items listed in his store.
Many will put the name of the item and then the model number in the title of the listing.
The reason they do this is one, so they can easily ascertain what sold and the other reason is when they upload their listing to Google the item can be searched as either model name or model number. Many buyers will punch in the model number to ensure they get the exact result they are looking for. So the eBay seller knowing this, ensures to put the model number in the title as well. This ensures he will turn up somewhere in that search.
This is a reason for having a store. The other of course, is to be able to list a high number of items at a lower cost to the seller. This way a seller can list hundreds and even thousands of products cheaply. As 1000 items will only cost 60$ per month with a gallery pic. Listing a 1000 items in the auction format could cost anywhere from a 1000$ to 5000$ per month which would make it impossible to to make a profit.
The key is to find the correct solution for your business.
