I wanted to create a website for my online store but I dont know where to start. I've read about merchants solutions from yahoo small business and I think they cost too much, is there another cheaper way to build a website with the same features like yahoo? Thanks

I've used Link hidden: Login to view - very easy and not to expensive. You can build a professional website - and it has a shopping cart that you can add by wizard. Very easy!

You might also try X-Cart (Link hidden: Login to view). I use them for my retail sight and they're pretty good. They have direct integration with PayPal and many other merchant account companies. They also have integration with UPS and FedEx shipping to make rate calculations easier. You'll need a little programming knowledge if you want to install it yourself or they do offer consulting services if technology is not your thing.

Authorize.net is easy, affordable and very professional.

If you are unsure of your sales volume and are just starting out, I would suggest going with PAYPAL 'Website Payments Pro'. You need a business account, I believe, to set this up - but it is very easy to set up a biz acct with paypal. Your customers do not see paypal as the one accepting the credit card. This is the cheapest method, it is $20 per month plus the percentage per transaction. There is no contract obligation either.

Once you get your merchant account setup, you will breathe a sigh of relief :)
