Oh.....how true!!! PLEASE...from all of you with great IPOD suppliers...sell to SALEHOO members and you will make a killing. If I had a good source, I would order thousands and resale to the members here at a fair price so we can make a profit. The Demand for ipods is insatiable. If someone has the source, but no funds...lets talk business!! I have the money, time and zeal to do this!
If you find one, let me know - I'm in.
I am currently making some tentative steps with one supplier that looks like having really good prices, but I can't even be certain myself that they're trustworthy yet. I can't even be certain that their claims to have genuine ipods is true yet. And they don't have secure payment for internationals (ie outside Indonesia), which makes me very nervous, and Jimmy says anything from Indonesia is most likely fake. So at this stage, I don't know whether to take the plunge or not - I'm only a small part time seller supplementing a pension (legally!), so I'm a bit wary of parting with what would be for me a whole fortnight's income and cross my fingers and hope I don't get scammed.
If I did take the plunge and it did work out, and I found 'the source', I'll let you know because I definitely don't have funds for buying in thousands (hey - I'm struggling to buy in 5s!) so banding together with someone else would be a win-win situation for me, and maybe if they knew they had potentially so many customers we would be able to put pressure on them collectively to accept secure forms of payment (again a win-win situation for me!), since it would then be in their best interest (I mean, what would you do if you were them - change your policy and gain thousands upon thousands of dollars in sales, or refuse and have no extra sales?)
I mean, if a supplier turned out to be genuine, perhaps we'd be able to wrangle a special deal for Salehoo members only, if we have so many people looking for ipods. Theoretically, that should work with any in demand item. OK, we'll saturate the market, but that's going to happen in any supply-demand life cycle of a product eventually anyway, and at least this way we would make some sales along the way as opposed to watching while a few people make a secret kill. It would theoretically even be in Salehoo's best interest, as if it became known generally that Salehoo members had special wholesale deals on certain popular selling products, I bet there would be a steep increase in members....
However, this is still a fantasy at this stage....I have no way of knowing whether the supplier I'm checking out has items that are bona fide genuine at this stage.
What I want to know is where all these powersellers with access to refurb ipods with 12 months Apple warranty are coming from (especially in Australia offering Australian warranty from Apple), because I did ring Apple locally at one stage and they said that they weren't getting them from Apple and didn't have a clue where they were getting them from. They can't be getting them from Liquidation.com because I haven't seen any refurbs from there that offer the 12 month Apple warranty, and the only place I've seen that particular warranty offered is at the official Apple refurb ipod store. And they sell so many of them on ebay.com.au! Some of the prices that people are willing to pay for them aren't that much different from the prices of new ipods. So where are they coming from???
