Hi, I am the owner of a mobile phone company in the US. We are planning to release a new line of phones with a custom operating system. Our projections show sales of 1,000 units in 2025 and then growing to around 10,000 in 2029. At that point we will likely retire the line for a newer model.
Our first goal is to form a strong and lasting relationship with a supplier who will be able to meet these quotas. The phones we require do not need advanced microchips, since they will only run the most basic operations (mostly maps and messaging, not gaming or video streaming). However they should be durable, with a good battery life, a decent touch screen, an Android-based operating system, and a competitive price. If you have a product like that, then we should talk more.
The second step is writing the custom OS software. In order to do this, our developers will need the (Android) source code with build instructions as well as the hardware block diagram or schematic. If this is not possible due to licensing restrictions, then unfortunately we may not be able to work together. Once we have those items, our software team can finish the coding by August or September, and then we can start with a 250 piece order at that time.
