Thats kind of my problem, I'm not sure what to sell. I heard to stay away from electronics because competition is tough on ebay. Any suppliers that you know of that have actually made money for people selling on ebay?

Sorry but we don't keep tabs on which suppliers our members use and likewise they are not too keen at sharing their suppliers with us or the other members :)

Yes, that is true about electronics being one of the most saturated markets on ebay and online in general. You might want to consider selling electronic products' accessories instead for starters.

Here two ways to find out what is selling well on eBay:

1) Check out the popular searches and most popular products on eBay:

Popular searches: Link hidden: Login to view

Best selling products: Link hidden: Login to view

2) Perform completed listings searches for products or brand names to see the conversion rate and average selling price.

To do a completed listings search, simply click the Advanced Search button next to the main eBay search box. Enter your search keywords as usual, and then check the Completed Listings box. Hit search and you'll see historical data for the previous 30 days. Successful items are in green; unsuccessful items are in red.

Hope that helps :)

How about using SaleHoo's Research Labs for quick analysis of keywords or key phrases for products?

My first trial actually returned surprising facts about sell through rates upwards of 60% for the product I searched for.

I also see where sample research on iphone4 was returning an astounding 70% sell through rate.

My only disappointment is that you only get to imput 10 items for research per day. What do I need to do to be able to access unlimited research if I am using this as a research tool?

My other concern is that the sellthrough rate tells me nothing about the competition on eBay. Some of the Suppliers are either selling and competing directly with you on eBay or using PPC advertising that features directly below your listings on eBay and then undersell you by offering 70% discount off the MSRP to would be buyers. Bottom line - you are lucky if you gross 10% of the Suppliers wholesale price. This is deceptive and wrong, in my opinion.

Hello and welcome iHappy :)

Yes, you can use the SaleHoo Research Lab instead of the recently removed ebay Pulse.

The sell-through rate actually shows you the selling potential of the product you keyed in. But there is so much more to consider than just sell through rate when you are deciding what to sell: Sale price, or end price is also crucial and as you pointed out knowing your competition may also help.

Sorry but at this point everyone just gets 10 searches per day. This is to help ensure that everyone is able to use the labs, as opposed to just a few members who are doing over a hundred searches daily. This actually helps to even out the universal search limits for our labs.

All the best!
