So a chargeback was granted by Paypal. No big deal, welcome to the world of e-commerce. It was for a Fendi handbag. I shipped the item. The buyer was a rude b$%ch from the word go. I could tell right away I was going to have to spoil this buyer bc she was NOT your typical person. The first e-mail to me after she won the bag was 'I won this bag and paid for it, ship it now and send the invoice of where and what you paid for it now.'
So you can see what I was in for. So I ship the bag and was hesitant on sending the invoice. So in good faith, I sent her a sanitized copy of my invoice. (price and location were blacked out) She asked about my return policy and I reiterated it was 3 days and all the protective coatings and tags MUST be intact.
She was nice as pie asking for a refund and I said no problem just return the bag and once received I will inspect and refund her the purchase price minus shipping. No problem, no questions asked.
So she sends me an e-mail that the items has shipped, I reply great I will keep an eye for it. What happens next blows my mind. Later that day, she files a complaint with paypal. 20 minutes after that she ups it to a claim stating it was fake and she can just tell. Once I get the bag I realize she had taken all the tags and coatings off and through it all in the bottom of the box.
Anyway, Paypal. We both submit our info. Paypal decides in her favor as the item 'Significantly not as described.' I inquired as to how they came to that desicion. They said the viewed all the facts and I asked again what facts? They didn't have the bag to authenticate or a copy of the invoice. The woman had the bag for less than 24 hours so you know she didn't have it authenticated. So paypal responded with the same e-mail of they reviewed the information. I asked what was the criteria on how they decide on the accusation of fraudulent merchandise?? No reply and I sent the same email 5 times in the last two weeks.
I truly believe this...Paypal being an Ebay company has become so skewed in that they are so afraid of being sued they have gone and NOT given their customers, sellers included, the needed due diligence they deserve and pay for in thier fees.
Do you really need Paypal?? doesn't your bank credit card offer the same protection and service only exception is with your bank you can actually talk to a person and not a front company clerk for Ebay??
