Recently I setup some new eBay accounts to sell overseas. I would allocate each account to an individual country to sell in. I had operations going in Australia, USA, UK and France. And had other account setup but hadn't begun operations yet.

eBay suspended all my accounts, I don't know why this is all they said to me:

'Dear zaacs_uk (zaacs_uk@dodo.com.au),

We regret to inform you that your eBay account has been suspended due to concerns we have for the safety and integrity of the eBay community.

'Abusing eBay' of the eBay User Agreement states, in part:

'...we may limit, suspend, or terminate our service and user accounts, prohibit access to our website, remove hosted content, and take technical and legal steps to keep users off the Site if we think that they are creating problems, possible legal liabilities, or acting inconsistently with the letter or spirit of our policies.'

Due to the suspension of this account, please be advised you are prohibited from using eBay in any way. This includes the registering of a new account.

Please note that any seller fees due to eBay will immediately become due and payable. eBay will charge any amounts you have not previously disputed to the billing method currently on file.

They then asked for me to send them information to verify my identity. I have faxed them some photocopies of my ID, and 5 days latter we're still in this situation. I still don't know why my accounts were supended, I had 100% feedback on virtually all of them, my Paypal account is registered, yet they can do this? Has this ever happened to anyone else? Does anyone know what I can expect to happen?

Hmm its possible they have a newe tactic to fight off fraud. Did you setup all the accounts the same day?

I currently have 5 acounts all in good standing all above 350 feedbacks. And have never heard of this before. But im in the US and thier regulations might be different here.

Thats also a new one on me. I sell internationally but never had any problems

Well the only thing I can say is keep calling them and bothering them. Tell them why you have more then one account and keep bugging them. The last thing they want to do is screw over an honest seller. If you keep at it they will know your serious and dont intend to fraud anyone.

Dont give up !!!

Thanks for the replies. I sent them some info via fax, just authenticating who I am, and they've now brought the accounts back up. It's very stressfull though knowing that they can bring your accounts down at any time for any reason. They still will not give a me a reason why they brought my accounts down.

It could be anything from fraud checks to a complaint from someone trying to screw you over. I guess we shall never know.

Its good to know your back online again.

Got the same kind of problems. My partner is from India and a good morning eBay shutdown my account. After authentifying who I am, they restored it.

If you want the roads that come with success, including your online store, you must fight fraud like it was a virus.

AND FIGHTING FRAUD IS NOT EVER EASY....LET NO ONE TELL YOU OTHERWISE.

There are PLENTY of criminals out there, of the Nigerian scammer variety or otherwise, even European, who will buy items 'from' someone's business and never pay anything.

Or they'll use a stolen credit card and claim they paid.....

And there are so many out there, and so many checks to do, that only if you have an ID verify on your website can you possibly screen out fraud.

ID Verify/confirm means the person has verified who they are by US Postal mail or postal mail. While still susceptible its 98% safter and unfortunately, websites who do not have that protection get defrauded.

Fraud is so rampant there is in fact, a fully integrated police agency dedicated to ONLY fraud. And that is IC3.

Hey I had the same problem. Did you redirect traffic to one of your own websites? I did and they didn't let me unsuspend it. I had to get my wife to do the whole thing over again with ebay and paypal.... Ebay's got the worst customer service I have every witnessed. Anyways good luck to ya

I hate it how ebay can somtimes carelessly suspend your account for any reason they can find. This happened to me as well, I know how it feels. I was making a killing off ebay as well at the time so it was that more fustrating.

Fortunately I fought my case, and ended up getting a nice customer service person (rare find!) re instate my account. I was lucky but it did take 2 months.

Consistantly make reference to your 100% feedback, that helped me.
