Hi ccw, if you are unable to do the ground work yourself then I would suggest the next best thing, actually it's probably even better than trying to do it yourself if you have zero experience, is to go through a management service (sourcing agency)

You can do a simple Google search for sourcing agent, Asian management service, search words like that will get you some information.
My best advice, use one based outside of Asia if you are unable to assure their independence There are companies that have their own management agency fronts designed to develop business for themselves. Of course that doesn't mean that you are getting a bad deal, but it does mean you are not getting as many options to choose from.
