Can I open another PayPal account?

Alright guys

I need your advice and help on something please.. Please note before I start I take full responsbility to what has happen to me. It was my own stupid mistake and I should have done more checks..

Right let start from the top

About two months ago I search dhgate for products that I could sell on Ebay. At the time I never thought about unbranded prodcts, never got the concept. I was noyl looking for some branded computer software products that I knew about.

I look through Dhgate and found loads of computer software at unbelivable low prices, which I thought to myself was brilliant. At the time I never thought these were counterfieit (BIG MISTAKE) I just thoight about the profit margin side of things.

So I order some and started selling them on ebay. I got them for Â£12 a time and was at least selling them for Â£77 upwards. Not only that I was selling them very quickly. At least 20 at week.

Of course paypal got wind of it and wanted to see proof of where I was getting them from etc. I supplied all the revelant details and now my exisitng paypal acount has be closed down premently!

I understand fully why, because I was actually selling fake goods. I learnt the hard way, and a very big lesson as well.

However my question is can I ever open up another paypal account in my own name at the same address but using a different bank account details? Or is that me done with paypal??

Don't worry I dont intended to sell any branded products at all! Unless I get them used! I am intended to buy and sell stuff like Iphone cases, etc..

If I can't open a paypal account can my wife do it?

Hi byronwells,

Sorry to hear about your PayPal problem. There are stealth ways of getting another account for those suspended, but I don't want you to get the info from me, from our site, because it is not a legal step. :)

Note that any information you have encoded in your original eBay and PayPal account that will be used again in other accounts will link back to you, as their system can track it and will close that account as well. Even your pc's activity can be tracked.

Opening an account under your wife, with all of her information in it, is possible, but it will be her account, not yours.

How about talking to PayPal first, and tell them your intention. It will be a lot better to start on a clean slate.

That's all I can say for now. Let's wait for other's suggestions. Sorry that I can't be of much help.

Sorry byronwells if I wasn't clear. You CANNOT open up another paypal account in your own name at the same address using a different person's bank account details.

Hi byronwells,

It may matter, but you can ask your wife to try and open one in her name - as her account. Since she is your wife I assume it would be okay to share :)

Because eBay and PayPal are basically one, it may be a challenge though. Like Irene, previously mentioned they may be able to track down and link the 2 accounts with one another thus resulting to your wife's account being closed down too. At this point you'll never know unless you try.

Just open a new ebay and paypal with your wifes info. My wife and I each have our own account and there has never been a question even when she was suspended for awhile they did not mess with my accounts

It's not that easy :) For example if your wfies account gets supsended for whatever reason, and they link your own accounts i.e by name, address then you will too get your account closed down straight away! No questions asked!

At the moment I am trying to talk to ebay to see what I can do. I don't mind giving the money back if I can get my account open, but from I have read Ebay and paypal is a law upon themselves....

Then you are luckier than most sellers dmdiscounts! Many accounts have been closed down simply because they had the same home address/phone number as the seller being speculated.

We had a member whose entire family even his cousins, were banned from eBay simply because they shared the same IP address which linked all the accounts.

@Byronwells: There is no harm in trying to get your wife to open her account. If your other option does not work, maybe you can try taking this route instead. Hopefully you'll have as much luck as dmdiscounts.
