Hi All,

I Dont think liquidation.com has a good track record in customer service as when i sent payment via wire transfer i noticed from my bank they was short of $5 i called liquidation.com and they said wait until we receive payment and we will e/mail you if theres a problem..and thats all i can get out of them! its like pulling teeth with them!

One thing you also have to keep in mind is that liquidation.com is medium sized company doing close to 2 million auctions per year.

They obviously need to have a good staff setup specifically for complaint resolution. But with the sheer volume of sales they have. Im sure they get thousands of complaints or just basic issues they have to deal with.

They are still a great place to buy products but you have to play it smart as they deal in a volitile market.

I have received 4 lots from Liquidation.com and have made back almost all of my money on about 60% of the lots. I am left with 40% to sell and that should be right in my pocket. I am receiving 3-4 lots a week from them and getting rid of them just as fast!

I sold several things on liquidation.com a week ago and have yet to get paid. I've sent several emails and haven't received a response! They charged me $200.00 for a 3 day listing! I was expecting atleast a week long listing for that price

I noticed you mentioned that your listing

on Liquadation.com cost you 200 bucks

WOW! that a lot of money for 3 days.

I always thought it was free to list. I was

thinking about listing but with that kind

of charge, I can see why some items go for

so much.

Go to ripoff report , i think there is a report on there from a seller discussing the high fees , etc ... For me it was hit or miss .. i bought some stuff from taget and some baby clothes and did ok made soemthing , i lost my butt on some lingerie as i am getting about 70 percent back just dumping it off on ebay but i bought 90 cases of solar lights from there for $15 a case and i have been selling them with shipping on ebay for $95 -110 probaly a net profit of $60 70 .so it will more than make up for the loss on the lingerie .just be carefull as a lot of the stuff is the same sellers and you can look on ebay and see others have bought the stuff cant sell it and are now dumping it off for a loss .... ExAMPLE I told a friend about the site they went there and saw the MOVIE POSTER lots and were telling me how rare they were and i told them the same seller had been selling those lots on there since last november when i discovered the site.

I won 3 auctions. The first auction was "A Grade Xbox One". Second and third auctions were "self-pulls Jewelry and design handbags". I learned a hard ways. I lost almost $2000. Xbox were ended up only two in good condition and the other 4 are broken. I didn't check everything when items were delivered because I believed everything must be in excellent since they all were A Grade. Until I sold them to my customers on eBay and then some of them requested for return. I lost money with Xbox about 50%, however, it is still much smaller if compare to what I lost with the other two auctions handbags and jewelry. I paid for two auctions $1,081. It took me about a month to collect cash only $280. The rest are junks. I can't sell it no matter what. I am totally lost. I ended up owe PayPal not less than $2000. Now, I'm stuck with those junk handbags and jewelry.

Wow, that's hard to read and I'm so sorry you got burnt like that. Unfortunately we heard lots of stories like that when buying sight unseen auctions, especially from sellers without any morals at all. I hope you at least reported the seller to admin of the website to at least alert them of what they were doing.

Sites like that are what is knows in the trade as, dump sites. They're famous places for people who buy large loads of liquidated stock from surplus suppliers, then cherry pick all or almost all of the really good stuff. Then sell what they can, bundle all the rubbish that is left and then throw it on a site like that to get rid of it in one big dump.

I made a decision to donate all those handbags and jewelry to a church, so they can sell them to their members and get cash to buy food to help feed the hungers.

That was a nice gesture on your behalf, something good can end up coming out of something bad.

Can I ask a question that's related to all this please ?

It's probably a dumb question, so I apologize in advance !

I'm assuming the further away a supplier is from me, the higher the shipping cost will be ?

I'll be buying clothing and have had past experience buying from a place in Florida. I'm in the Southwest. That was the only supplier I ever bought from and the shipping wasn't so bad.

I'll be looking for supplier within the USA somewhere, not international. Since I'm in the Southwest would shipping likely cost more if I bought from a supplier closer to the East coast ? Maybe it's best o stick to sources closer to my location ?

Thanks very much.

Hi Lori and welcome to the forum,

As a general rule, road transport is always going to be more expensive the further they have to transport the load, however, there can be exceptions to that rule. Back-loading is a term used when the transporter has some left over space they are looking to fill, that can get you a cheaper rate, but you have to of course work in with the transporter as to when they have that space available, so not always practical.

Another option is to find a transporter either from your area doing a run to the east coast and back, they will usually be looking to find some load to bring back home way so they aren't running one way completely empty. Again, you have to work to the trucking companies time frame, so again perhaps not very practical unfortunately.

Still, it never hurts to chase up a few transporters when you are ready to ship, you may well get lucky and find one of those options available to you at the time.

I would suggest listing the pick-up on a site like uShip.com, that puts your job out to tender and then all sorts of transporters get to see it and can post a bid on your job. That's a good option because you never know who sees a listing like that, might even be a family moving cross country with some space in the trailer, maybe a car transporter dropping off a car on the East Coast and heading back home West.

There will be transport options out there that will boggle your mind, so it's always worthy throwing it out there and see what options come up at the time.

Cheers
