USA's biggest courier, FedEx Corp. has opened one its largest storage hub in Shanghai China. FedEx recently launched a 1.4 million square foot facility in Shanghai Pudong International Airport.
With the growing demand of eCommerce market in Asia, FedEx is anticipating an increase of transactions within the Asian continent. This had pushed them to build a hub in China as the transactions and air cargo volume (mainly China) has spiraled within the recent 10 years.
That being said, the company projects to hit at least 43 percent increase in the total value of goods exchanged for the upcoming year with a whooping 6.2 percent increase in air cargo volume. This latest hub is expected to send real-time data such as shpping and flight tracking/status making it more convenient for the eCommerce market.
