Create a USPS account is convenient for dropshippers?

Hello,

I would like to know if create a USPS account is a way to avoid high shipping costs of suppliers?..I mean, I've seen some suppliers ask for your USPS or other carrier account. What I want to know is how this method helps you and how it works ? Does the carrier pick up your package from the supplier?

I haven't really come across this myself, your best option would be to ask your dropshipper for more details or you can check with your local USPS branch about this.
