Hiring employees for e-commerce

Just curious about the question I have in mind..

What will be the steps that us (Employers) have to take or keep in mind when hiring staff in E-Commerce?

Or simply put, how should we go about doing it? and how it works?

I don't know the laws in other countries, but what I do in Australia is to contract staff. Essentially they are self employed and pay their own taxes and so on.

I use contract staff for online and offline enterprises!

Lot's of upsides for doing it this way for the employer, but you do need to have reliable staff, as the big downside is that contracted staff can let you down quite easily at times.

Good question! I haven't really hired anyone yet, but I know that you can post your ad on many sites offering online jobs, you can try craigslist for example or maybe there's a site for Singaporeans so you can hire locally :)

You might want to consider your employees - job description/scope and the pay (basically the employee contract). Also, before you post the ad it might be best if you can check if you can afford one, like are you making more than enough profit? If business is booming, having a working staff would be great - Customers just love great customer service :)

Hi Johnson,

You can use 3rd party services (like Elance and Odesk) where you can see each workers' past job performance and ratings as given by those they have worked for. It will save you time by ensuring you get serious workers who deliver. :)

Yes and it's one of the most difficult things to find online - Trust! Make sure you hire someone trustworthy, usually online job sites will lower your risk of being scammed.
