I wanted to say that I just opened a Paymate account without any issues whatsoever. There are no monthly or annual fees if you have a Standard account. I linked it to my eBay account & have already had my 1st successful transaction. Hasta La Vista PayPal!

Have you had any customers question if you accept PayPal at all? and how did you market it into your listings? like in means of wording what you accept. I have had a Paymate account for months now and have always accepted it as an alternative option for buyers to use. I even state that is the buyer uses paymate they will get 10% off but for some crazy reason, the buyers never choose to go this path? any suggestions?

Hi DMW. I don't offer PayPal anymore unless the buyer absolutely insists on it. All I say in my listing is ' We accept Mastercard & Visa through Paymate. Paymate is fast, safe & easy plus no account is required.' Ebay buyers have the name PayPal ingrained in their brains so for some reason they think that's the only form of payment accepted.

I haven't had any issues whatsoever. The items I am selling are almost all handmade by me so it's definitely a niche market. Maybe that's why people don't care. Who the heck knows but it's working so far :)

Thats awesome. Well im glad thats working for you. Maybe I will just take a chance and take out Paypal from those listings and see. The only fear I always have with ebay is if they decide to play revenge and suspend my account for not offering their PayPal. I have been hearing so many stories lately that ebay is closing down even big time sellers that have established big businesses on ebay but ebay takes them down without any reason.

Have to admit that I thought it was policy that every listing had to have PayPal as an option, no matter what other options you made available, so that is quite interesting.

I would be running that one up the flag pole with ebay itself before I took PayPal out of play altogether, just in case : )

When you say you just opened the account dts, how long have you been trading without the PayPal option at all?

Yup Mark, thats my biggest concern right now is if its daring enough to pull PayPal or not? lol will wait to hear!

You know guys if the buyer absolutely insists on Paypal I will ask for their email & just send them an invoice. As far as daring to pull Paypal...just go for it & see what happens! How can eBay suspend your account if they offer multiple payment services?

I would totally just give it a risk if I weren't afraid of having my account suspended in which I can't afford that to happen right now. I still need to read over the policy regarding this but I think you can have several payment services But having PayPal as one of them is mandatory. Meaning you still need to have paypal as your primary but also have others in with it. Will post back once I read it over.

Yeah, I was under the impression that while you can now offer alternative payment gateways, you still had to include PayPal as an option.

It actually surprises me that ebay would not have that built into their listing frame automatically so as a seller had no control over leaving it out, and only going with their preference.

The fact that you've been able to leave out PayPal altogether dts is a really good sign, perhaps you can get away without PayPal in the US now, I know we can't in Aus unfortunately!

If you're able to trade without including PayPal as an option, more power to you, no way I would be offering PayPal to any customer given the choice : )

You can remove paypal and use just paymate. I have done it successfully and use paymate and have done well with them for the last 2 months no issues great people so far and works well with US EBAY

That's awesome wholsalejoe. I don't have anything on eBay currently because of the holidays. My first transaction with Paymate was held for a few days. Not really sure why but I hope to be running plenty through them in 2010!

im fernando and met dropshipping system recently.

1 month, I started to post on ebay and sold for 15 days (XXX) eur.no is wrong to be a beginner and just put some items to test and thus also add punctuation.

pay pal has opened investigation an ebay clause and my paypal account temporarily until the investigation ends.

I totally agree with that paypal, ebay and Mother Teresa. customer care and protect them against fraud, but a week ago that I am sending millions of papers, notification of the products purchased in my dropship and paypal is too slow to upload your files or system data is faulty.

I've also been reading because they can limit your paypal account and there are millions of reasons why they can do it (every time they do take so long?)

my reflection on this service is that for my business over a long period is not good.

but what to do if you're new to eBay do not have many options before you get a good score and if so, how to pay most of which dropshipers accept pay pal?

Hmmm that sounds pretty familar to me about Paymate holding a payment for a few days!!! dang I hope they are not going to take a page out of PayPals book as far as holding payments! lol nah I know for the most part Paymate has had a pretty good Rep. with service and all. Im actually gonna take that advice and take out paypal from my listings and replace back to Paymate.

DMW-Paymate held my payment for 4-5 days. Maybe it was because it was my first transaction. Looking at auction format listings, when it comes to selecting your payment method eBay gives you the option to select PayPal, Moneybookers, Paymate, etc. I don't think it's mandatory to choose Paypal.

Fudji-Have you read the policy about that?

It stuns me that that haven't done that, who in their right mind is going to offer PayPal as an option if they're not forced to by ebay?

That all adds up to PayPal loosing a truckload of business from where I'm sitting and ebay actually slicing their own left ear off, quite bizarre. I can only assume that their focus group marketing indicates that most will still offer PayPal as an option, perhaps even as a preferred option, but in reality any result indicating that sort of outcome has to be borderline physco!

Yeah I agree fudjj. I read a while back now that I remember that ebay got sued by a group of long time sellers over ebay not allowing any other payment options on there site and the sellers won!

My biggest question is if its smart to just drop PayPal all together and offer Paymate? I wonder if buyers will not bid or buy if PayPal is not accepted.

BTW::: anyone had buyers email saying they have been having trouble making a payment through paypal? I have had so many buyers over a string of time that said they were struggling to complete the transaction with PayPal. I checked into those buyers just to make sure and sure enough it wasn't the buyers fault it was that PayPal seems to have a huge Bug in the verification process!

DWM - I haven't had any issues with buyers not being able to complete a PayPal transaction. As far as people not bidding on your items if you just offer Paymate..I haven't had any complaints or lack of bids. I think PayPal & Paymate have such similar names that buyers don't catch it. Anyway my eBay ID is sweetiepeaboutique ~ check out one of my listings & you'll see how I have it worded about Paymate.
