Is it illegal to buy from UK and resell in Australia?

Hi everyone,

I'm a newbie here and trying to gather some info about setting up a business on eBay. I'm very much interested in selling grobag products but I'm having trouble finding someone to supply them to me. I contacted a member on eBay UK but she emailed me back saying its against trading laws to buy from UK and resell in Australia, does anyone know if this is true or not?

Maybe only if selling as brand new but if selling as seconds etc cannot see why not . Who's trading laws Aussie or UK. We don't work under UK trade laws...Thank God. Maybe jump on Govt website and do a search to see but geez not as if you are selling fakes or anything so I would wait and see if anyone says anything and besides how is Ebay going to know they are the exact same bags you bought from UK had sent to here and listed here.....I'd imagine that would not even be on their radar.

Also if thats the case as she says then all the sellers who buy from wholesalers who happen to sell on Ebay are breaking trade laws.

I think not especially when Ebay has wholesale lots for people to buy and relist elsewhere....They can't have their cake and eat it too.

You probably gave the UK seller too much info as she might want to start selling on oz ebay and doesn't want the extra competition

oh well its her lose, she could have earned a lot of business from me, most people on australia dont even go on the UK ebay, so ill find other methods
