i have just started selling on ebay - i only make about $20 profit per week at the moment
anyway i recently was contacted by a buyer who complained she hadn't received her parcel
the buyer then told me that she didn't live at that address anymore, but that she had forgotten to update her new address on ebay
buyer now wants me to refund her money
1. it's not my fault that the buyer gave me the wrong address
what would you do?
Well in my opinion, you absolutely did nothing wrong. It doesn't matter who you contact about this problem, most likely they are going to tell you the same thing. You have nothing to worry about. It was her fault that she hadn't updated her info. This is why it is good to keep an update on things like this. Now if the person(s) who currently live at the address it was sent to, forward the package back to you, then that would be great, but then that would mean you would have to pay for shipping all over again, and if I were you, I would make her pay for the shipping again, because the bottom line is that it was NOT your fault. Many times, when a person does an address change, the post office will deliver it to the new address anyway, that is if it has been under 60 days since she moved out. If it were me, I would go about it very nicely and send her an email saying that the item was shipped to the address given, and since she didn't update her info, she would need to go to her old address and try to see if she can get the package from the new tenants, because you did your part by shipping it out. Let her know that the only way for her to get a refund is if you get the package back in the same condition. I would also probably not want to do business with this person again due to the fact that she is not responsible when it comes to important things such as updating her address. I know mistakes happen, but why should you have to suffer for her mistake?
