Hi mohafarm,
From what I gathered, import license in South Africa is required only for specific list of restricted goods, otherwise most of the products can be imported with little or no restrictions at all.
Food, armaments, petroleum products, all second hand goods and other items considered to be potentially harmful in some way require import permits.
I tried to look for a guide in securing this import license for South Africa, but all of the sources that I read pointed to this instruction. You need to contact -
Department of Trade and Industry
Import Control
Private Bag X84
Pretoria 0001
Telephone: (012) 310-9791
Fax: (012) 310 9899

Hope this helps.
Let me know if I can be of further help.
